Absolutely exquisite sapphire and diamond earrings from the Victorian (ca1890) era! These gorgeous earrings are set in 14k rosy yellow gold, and each earring features an oval-cut sapphire that rests in the center of a border of sparkling old mine cut diamonds. The deep blue sapphires are?prong set and have an estimated total weight of approximately?6.16ctw, combined.?Surrounding each sapphire are?12?sparkling old European Cut diamonds in prong settings with two additional diamonds at the surmounts (26, total). The diamonds have a total weight of approximately 3.30ct with?E-G range color and?VS2-I1 range clarity. The back of each earring reveals a post back with secure, hinged lever style clips in gold. The backs are stamped with several?Russian?hallmarks?including the St. Petersburg town mark, the number 56 for 14k gold, and a maker's mark that reads AT for Alexander Edward Tillander (1837-1918). Accompanying the earrings is a recent appraisal completed by a GIA Graduate Gemologist in March of 2021 with an estimated retail replacement value of $30,000. Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting and all of the diamonds and sapphires are intact. The earrings backs fasten securely and are in good working condition.
