A beautiful gemstone ring from the Victorian (ca1890s) era! This gorgeous piece is crafted in rich 18k yellow gold and features?a beautiful ruby amongst?sparkling diamonds. Set in the center is a single estimated 2.20ctw certified oval-cut Burmese?ruby with a gorgeous pink-red hue. Flanking?the sides of the ruby are 6 chubby old cushion cut diamonds, weighing approximately .15ctw. All of the stones are set in a collet style prong setting, allowing light to flow through a slightly open gallery under the stones. Completing this design is a simple tapered shank that is hallmarked on the outside with an owl in an oval with the number 75 etched on his belly, likely a French import mark from the turn of the 20th century. The ring comes with gem certification #J21055MN from an independent GIA Graduate Gemologist at the Ricerche e Analisi Gemmologiche in December of 2021.?A wonderful piece, this gorgeous Victorian ring would make a stunning addition to any jewelry collection!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size 5.5, but could be easily resized if desired. The ring measures 8.6mm at its widest at the top of the design. The tapered band measures approximately 1.75mm wide at the back.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold and silver setting. All of the rubies and diamonds are securely set, however, the stones do have some wear, including a small chip in the center ruby and surface abrasions. None of the damage is noticeable when the ring is worn, nor does it detract from the overall look of the piece.
